KC Cache Dash 2012

Join the high-tech treasure hunt

And help our neighbors in need.

Part free geocaching expo. Part team scavenger hunt. All family-friendly fun in the name of some great causes. Presented by Garmin, Land Rover Merriam and OpenCaching, the KC Cache Dash is the first interactive geocaching event of its kind.

Bring your family and join us in person on March 24 to learn how to start geocaching from OpenCaching.com ambassadors and Garmin engineers. Then follow along using social media as teams representing local charities scour the Kansas City area for hidden treasure troves.

What’s this geocaching thing, anyway?

Simply put, it’s a free and fun outdoor activity that will have you searching for and hiding concealed “caches.” The activity is gaining so much in popularity that the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts even have a merit badge for it. You can find out how to get started by visiting the KC Cache Dash expo or reading OpenCaching.com’s handy geocaching guide.
