The Power of Simple is what happens when very complex, sophisticated technology is made extremely easy for you to use. Garmin is dedicated to making your time on the water more fun, more rewarding...more simple. And you will definitely find the Power of Simple in all the new Garmin marine products coming your way in 2013.
This amazing watch includes features that have never been combined into one watch before. Designed for avid mariners of all types, from dinghy racers and kayakers to power boaters and serious sailors, quatix is a high-sensitivity GPS navigator marine watch. It has a self-adjusting altimeter, barometer and 3-axis electronic compass. It’s waterproof to 50 m. Oh, and it’s cool on your wrist and tells time, too. That’s the power of simple…convenience.
quatix combines advanced sail racing tools for unparalleled awareness and a competitive edge during a racing competition.
- Virtual Starting Line - Set up a virtual starting line between 2 marked GPS waypoints, for example a buoy and the Committee boat.
- Start Countdown Timer - quatix combines the starting line with a built-in countdown timer to calculate both distance to the line as well as desired speed and burn time available, enabling you to skipper the vessel to cross the line at maximum speed at the exact start time.
- Tack Assist mode - Once the race has begun, the watch then switches to Tack Assist Mode and indicates whether the vessel is getting headed or lifted based on the optimal tack angle provided and makes for a more efficient and controlled sailing experience.
quatix™ features a built-in high-sensitivity GPS Garmin navigator. You can actually load it with routes, mark waypoints, and it can guide you to your destination and back again. In addition, you can use sight and go navigation. Pick a point in the distance you wish to navigate to, set quatix and it will keep you on course to it. This is especially helpful for kayakers and canoeists.
This amazing watch also features built-in remote capabilities. It allows you to remotely control a Garmin autopilot so you can move around the deck of a power boat or sailboat while having information and control right there on your wrist.
When paired with a Garmin GNT™ 10 NMEA Transceiver (sold separately), you can wirelessly stream and view NMEA 2000 data, such as wind speed and direction, water depth, and more right on your wrist, wherever you are on the boat.
Should a crewmember wearing a quatix fall overboard, quatix will automatically send an MOB alert to the chartplotter (requires GNT™ 10 NMEA Transceiver sold separately).
Monitor barometric pressure to help you detect changing weather conditions. Tide tables provide the same accurate tide data built into our chartplotters. Tables cover over 3,400 locations to help make sure you get to the right place at the right time.
